From Siddharth (2007-8)

Jim was the most interested, interesting and adventurous person on our canoe trip. From sweating it out in the concocted sauna to dishing out wine in steel cups, Jim always made any experience, how ever tiny, much more worthwhile and enjoyable. Among the countless great memories of those 2 days, the one that sticks with me the most is when Jim taught me to cross over in a canoe whilst in the water. The trick is to slide under the co-passengers legs and at the same time stabilize the boat from sinking. The first attempt was a bit rocky and a source of great mirth for on-looking scholars on the shore. The second attempt was even more hilarious, as Jim tried to crawl his 6 foot plus frame under my wobbling legs! By this time a camera had sprung out and pictures of this mini-circus were being quickly captured. We tried it two more times and now I can proudly proclaim knowledge of intra-canoe weight transfer! Thanks for everything Jim, you will be dearly missed!!
